Singer JessC, who is set to return to the Malaysian stage for a comeback concert on December 20, has recently been actively promoting her Chinese, Malay, and English-language albums. Following her win in the “Best Asian Pop” category at the InterContinental Music Awards in September, she has once again attracted international attention by being named one of the “New Artists to Watch” by Rolling Stone UK.

Founded in 1967, Rolling Stone has long been regarded as one of the world’s most influential music and cultural publications. In its latest UK feature, the magazine described JessC’s vocals as “soft yet resilient,” highlighting the emotional depth within her music as a defining element of her artistic identity.

This month’s selected artists came from countries including Russia, Belgium, the United States, Portugal, and the United Kingdom. Asian artists are relatively rare on the list, making JessC’s inclusion a notable moment that brings greater visibility to music storytelling from diverse cultural backgrounds.

In addition to the recent UK feature, Rolling Stone Australia had previously published a dedicated article on JessC’s musical journey, documenting her growing exposure in international markets. The recognition has been viewed as another important milestone in her overseas career development.

Reacting to her inclusion in the “New Artists to Watch” list, JessC expressed surprise and gratitude for the recognition:

“I’m not trying to prove anything. I simply hope people carrying emotional burdens or stress know that they are not alone. If my music can accompany even one person somewhere in the world, that is already enough.”

She also shared that she plans to continue creating music in multiple languages, while further exploring how music can serve as a medium for emotional expression and inner healing.
